Hey guys, I heard a sermon recently from Psalm 119 that really opened my eyes to how powerful this passage is - Such intense descriptors of what the Word of God should be in our life! Verses like 37, 105, 92, and 130...! Wow It's such a stark contrast from the Islamic concept of "Memorize the sounds" I'm thinking of making a Story-set (Bible-walk through) that uses this theme: The Word of God as light to our path. With each narrative tied to really direct commands from God / wisdom passages that apply. Thoughts? Also - What are some first passages you're reading with your friends? (Whether stand-alone verses you send in conversation, or a full passage you explore together?) I'd love to hear what kinds of doors God is opening to share his Word!
(This question is submitted by Sarah MN - a paraphrase) "I was telling the story of the woman caught in adultery to a friend of mine, and I wondered why under Moses's law, this woman would have been killed. Where was God's love? Why did Jesus not condemn her, but his own law (God's law) did? Why does God seem so different in the Old Testament than in the New Testament?"
